POLICY FOR THE USE OF GENERATIVE AI AND AI-ASSISTED TECHNOLOGIES

Purpose and Scope

This policy outlines permitted and prohibited uses of generative AI and AI-assisted tools in manuscript preparation, submission, peer review, and editorial processing.

Authors

Permitted Use

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for language correction, grammar, readability, and translation.

Prohibited Uses

Generative AI must not be used to:

  • fabricate data, results, or citations
  • generate misleading scientific content
  • create or manipulate images, graphs, or figures unless AI use is central to the research and transparently described

Human Oversight

Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content. AI tools cannot be credited as authors.

Mandatory Disclosure

Use of AI tools beyond straightforward language correction must be disclosed in a section titled:
“Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process”
The declaration must include tool name and purpose and confirm author responsibility.

Peer Reviewers

Reviewers must not upload, copy, or disclose any manuscript content into generative AI tools or third-party systems that may compromise confidentiality.

Editors and Editorial Board Members

Editors must treat submissions and internal communications as confidential and must not input such content into external AI tools.

Compliance and Updates

Violations may result in rejection, retraction, or reporting to institutions. This policy may be updated as standards evolve.
