NAME AND PRONOUN CHANGE POLICY

Name and Pronoun Change Policy

This journal supports the right of authors to change their name and/or pronouns in previously published articles for any reason, including (but not limited to): marriage/divorce, gender affirmation, religious conversion, or personal preference.

Policy Overview

  • Requests will be honored without requiring disclosure of reason or supporting documents.
  • The author’s name will be updated across journal-controlled records (PDF, HTML, metadata).
  • The DOI will remain unchanged and citations remain valid.
  • Changes will be made without issuing a correction notice to protect author privacy.
  • Spelling errors will be handled under the corrections policy.

Indexing and Third-Party Platforms

The journal will update its own records and will notify relevant indexing and discovery services where possible. Updates on third-party platforms depend on their own update schedules and policies.

Request Requirements

Authors should provide:

  • Previously published name
  • Updated name/pronouns
  • Email contact
  • Relevant article DOIs
  • Preference regarding co-author notification
